• There are eight whisky distilleries on Islay. Those with websites are found at Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Kilchoman and Laphroaig. Also worth visiting is the Isle of Jura distillery.
• Ron Steenvoorden runs the astoundingly comprehensive Islay Info website, which is recommended reading for any visitor to Islay.
• An excellent source of information about Islay is the website for the local newspaper, The Ileach, which is regularly updated.
• Rhinns Taxi Hire offers a 24-hour Islay taxi service that covers all of the island.
• The Scottish Tourist Board runs the Visit Scotland website, which features a wealth of useful information, though it can take a while to find it!
• The Monachs also has an entry on the YouStayUK.com and B&B Web websites.
